How we check our facts

See You Tanzania is edited by Kabeer Dalvi. These are the rules every page follows.

  1. 01

Every fact has a named source

Each page lists what it was checked against at its foot. A figure we cannot confirm is either marked as unconfirmed or cut.

  2. 02

    Official sources first

Park facts and fees come from TANAPA, government facts from the Government of Tanzania and Parliament, money from the Bank of Tanzania. Encyclopaedias and Wikipedia help us find things; where a page relies on them, the source list says so.

  3. 03

    Disagreement is shown, not hidden

Where reliable sources disagree, such as on a date or a death toll in history, we give the range and say who says what, rather than picking one.

  4. 04

    Current politics: facts only

Pages about government and recent politics record offices, dates, laws and official results. They do not take sides.

  5. 05

    Things that change are dated

Fees, ferry services, the cabinet and other facts that change carry an “as of” date or a review date, and are re-checked regularly.

  6. 06

    How we use AI

We use AI tools to help research and draft pages. Every fact is then checked against the sources listed on the page before it is published, and the editor is responsible for what appears.
